Attendees of the annual United Fresh Washington Conference Sept. 24-26 will hear from Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., and U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., among others.
United Fresh announced that the two will be keynote speakers at the annual conference and provide their perspectives on produce industry issues.
Heitkamp is a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and has worked on the 2018 farm bill. She’s also running for re-election this fall in a race that the Cook Political Report has as a “toss-up.”
Davis serves on the House Agricultural Committee and is co-chairman of the House Agriculture Research Caucus and the House Main Street Caucus. He has also been working on the House version of the farm bill.
United Fresh previously announced that Ted McKinney, USDA Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, would speak Sept. 24.
Blue Book’s Doug Nelson, vice president of trading assistance, and Greg Johnson, director of media development, will attend the conference.
